Brazil 1-2 France: Mbappe and Ekitike Goals

By

Kylian Mbappe closed in on Olivier Giroud’s all-time France goalscoring record as Didier Deschamps’ team defeated Brazil with 10 men.

Kylian Mbappe and Hugo Ekitike scored for France as they sent out a statement of their World Cup credentials by overcoming Dayot Upamecano’s red card to beat Brazil 2-1.

Didier Deschamps’ side will play their final Group I match against Norway in Foxborough on June 26, and they looked at home in their New England surroundings as they earned an impressive victory, despite playing more than 40 minutes a man down.

Both coaches selected strong lineups and that made for a lively start, but with Raphinha sending a half-volley over, the first shot on target did not arrive until the 32nd minute.
