Hello and welcome to the Manchester United transfer blog on Friday, September 26.

We have a busy day coming up for United fans with Ruben Amorim set to address the media this afternoon ahead of Saturday’s early kick-off against Brentford in the Premier League. The Reds will be hopeful that they can keep their momentum going after defeating Chelsea last weekend.

While the focus is clearly on the pitch, talks over transfers has remained with Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba as two of their midfield targets. Players contracted to United are also at the centre of major updates with a Kobbie Mainoo decision speaking volumes.

There has also been plenty of verdicts delivered on Marcus Rashford with most of those fairly negative, but Barcelona’s stance is clear.

Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Amad and Noussair Mazraoui will both miss Manchester United’s trip to Brentford in the Premier League.

“Licha [Lisandro Martinez} is out. Casemiro is out because of the red card. Amad is not here because someone in his family passed away. We are giving all the support to Amad and understood he needed to return home,” he said.

Diogo Dalot is in line to replace Amad with the Portugal international returning to training on Thursday. Mazraoui meanwhile, has been ruled out.

“He [Mazraoui] is out also. He will not be back until the international break,” Amorim revealed.
